Gerdau is currently seeking a Process Engineer/Improvement Facilitator (Maintenance) for its Fort Smith, Arkansas facility.

Responsibilities:
The major role of the Process Engineer/Improvement Facilitator (Maintenance) is to lead plant automation and controls upgrades utilizing internal and external resources and provide technical troubleshooting support for electrical issues in the facility. Mainly focused on automation and controls. The Process Engineer/Improvement Facilitator (Maintenance) is to manage contractors to complete routine and improvement projects throughout the plant, during normal operating hours and scheduled maintenance periods and train employees on the operation and maintenance of new and existing electrical equipment. This role also identifies opportunities for improvement in processes, products, and production within the area of responsibility. These duties will include the development and implementation of new as well as adjusting existing standards, structures, systems, and equipment. This position is responsible to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of all improvement aspects within their area of responsibility.


Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
5 years in an industrial or manufacturing environment with exposure to standardization and production quality methods required
Knowledge of steel manufacturing methods and techniques involving the use of heavy mill machinery and related equipment preferred
Knowledge of automation and controls
