Gerdau is currently seeking a Parts Clerk/Inventory Control for its Ft Smith, AR facility.

Overview:
Under the guidance of the Routine Facilitator, must be knowledgeable of certain safety requirements so proper protective equipment can be issued. Notes trends in most and least used items, reliability and longevity of certain supplies. May recommend changing suppliers, vendors, reorder points, maximum quantities on hand, etc. Must be aware of the location of material stored outside the immediate Stores area and the other warehouses. Must possess a high degree of self-initiative and integrity, as this person is part of a team who is responsible for over $3 million of inventory in the Storeroom that is critical to the operations of this plant. Proper control of the Store's inventory is essential to minimize downtime.

Responsibilities:
Sort and store incoming materials in an orderly fashion in Storeroom, warehouses and outdoor secured area; distribute as requested to appropriate personnel; assist personnel in finding correct materials; maintain computerized inventory control system; assist Head Receiving and Shipping Coordinator in day-to-day receiving functions.

Requirements:
High School diploma (or GED)
Minimum of 1 year experience in inventory for manufacturing, auto parts or industrial parts warehouse or storeroom (stores) required
Must be able to work 12-hour shifts (with overtime) including holidays and weekends.
Must be able to work any shift, morning or overnight (6am-6pm AND/OR 6pm-6am) without schedule limitations
1 year minimum experience driving/operation a forklift
Basic math and recording keeping skills - must be extremely detail oriented
Ability to deal well with people
Basic
computer
and keyboarding skills for data entry
Working knowledge of purchasing procedures and computerized inventory control systems is a plus
Mechanical and/or Electrical aptitude helpful
